Backdoor Podcast had the honor of interviewing John Brown after beating Ginobili’s record for steals.
The american center, which is playing in a team that is surprising everyone for its performance, told us about its present in Russia and its future goals:
– What’s your opinion about this firts part of the season both about the VTB League and the Euroleague?
I think that VTB has been easier than Euroleague in all aspect.
– In your career you played in Italy and this year in Russian. What are the main differences between these championships? And in what you have struggled to fit in?
I honestly don’t see a difference between the two; for me basketball is the same no matter where you go and I have not struggled to fit it.
– Who has been the most difficult opponent to face so far? And the team that has put you most in trouble?
I can’t tell you a name in particular: Madrid has been the most difficult because of the height of their roster.
Madrid was therefore also the most difficult team to face.
– What’s the most important game you’ve played to date that you’ll never forget?
The game against Armani Milan at home. Because I did well and I have always wanted to play good against them.
– You broke Ginobili’s record for stolen balls in one season. What did it feel like to reach this goal? And how do you train to be so effective in this regard?
Of course it feels good to make the book. But my Wife pointed out that I was on track to do it. So I guess I became more aggressive.
– What are your goals, both personal and for the team, for this season and for the future?
I don’t know what the future holds, so I can’t speak on that aspect, but personal is to inspire others in a positive way through this game called Basketball.
As for the season to finish as a champion, simple.
